Abraham pleads for Sodom with a boldness that reveals both his compassion and his trust. Paul calls the church to intercede for all people because God’s desire is that all be saved. Jesus teaches us to pray with the persistence of a neighbor knocking at midnight and the trust of a child asking a loving father. Together, these readings show that God invites us to pray to him with persistence, boldness, and hope. Here and now, we are invited to approach the throne of grace in prayer with confidence in our Lord.
