Spared from Death for Protection

God sometimes puts his people into what seem like strange situations. He is teaching us that he is willing to take that very situation onto himself. Rather than having us face eternal death. He sent his son to spare us from eternal death. Though we will die, we will spend eternity with him in heaven. In the mean time, he promises to protect us and draw us closer to him.

Scripture References: Genesis 22:1-18

From Series: "Spared"

When people need to be rescued. People are rescued from something. A person is rescued from the rising waves. A person is rescued from wreckage. Sinful people need rescue too. Sinners need rescue from a guilty record. Sinners need rescue from a verdict. Sinners need a loving and merciful God to spare us. In Jesus’ suffering and death God spared us from the punishment we deserve. But not only does God spare us from something but he spares us for something. Not only has God spared us from punishment, but he has spared us for a new life with him.
