We live in a world obsessed with status—getting noticed, getting ahead, getting the seat of honor. But Jesus tells a parable that flips the script. He urges us to take the lowest place. In God’s Kingdom, those who lower themselves are the ones who are lifted up. Jesus promises that those who leave their honor and glory to God will receive honor and glory far greater than any that can be awarded in this life. Our status does not need to be our responsibility, because Jesus has already made it his.
