Good News is Faithful

Good news should be something that stays with you, something that you can dwell on, something that encourages you. In other words, Good news shouldn’t be short lived. God’s good news for you is faithful. He gives life, and joy. He assures you of his faithful love and your future with him. He is faithful to you and this faithfulness prompts faithfulness in you.

From Series: "Good News For Christmas"

Imagine that your neighbor comes up to you and says, “Good News! We’re finally heading out for vacation.” While you may happy for him, it’s really only news—it’s good news for him but affects your life very little. Or imagine that you read in the news that two countries were in peace talks. You may be very happy at the prospect of peace, but unless it was your country then the peace talks are just news. Good news is always specific to you. In order for news to be good news it has to speak to a predicament you find yourself in. And in order for news to be truly good then it has to do something more than just make you happy. This Christmas God has news for you that is actually good. It speaks to a situation you are in and the goodness of the news lasts until eternity.
