We recognize that we are spiritually blind when we do not know Jesus. On our own, we cannot see the world as it truly is. We are tempted to call what is harmful good, and what is good meaningless. We fail to see the danger hidden behind temptation. Yet Jesus does more than give physical sight to the blind. He gives us spiritual vision. He says, “I am the light of the world.” He comes to shine his light into our darkened eyes so that we may see him—and live.
