Hardship Produces Discipline & Discipline Produces a Harvest

Discipline is proactive it is not really related to any particular thing a child has done. Rather it is done in order instill in a child a level of self discipline. It is done to provide the child with instruction and direction. It is done in order to bring the child to maturity. It is a sign of God’s care for you, if discipline is done for direction then it is going to send you running down the right path. If discipline is done for your own self discipline then it is going to cause you to persevere and to stay focused on the one who blazed the path and perfected your faith and opened heaven for you. And if discipline is for your maturity then it will increase your trust.

From Series: "Unconventional Savior"

As Jesus teaches truth, he often challenges conventional wisdom. He reverses the normal and natural order of things. What he has to say may upset and even offend us. This should not surprise us, considering this Teacher’s life and work are the opposite of what one would expect. When the truth is unconventional, the first temptation is to deny it. The second temptation is to simply ignore it. But, Listen and take to heart what Jesus says! For his Word, though often unconventional, gives eternal life.
