Judas Iscariot

He was betrayed by Judas, one of his own disciples. Betrayed for thirty pieces of silver. Jesus knew it was going to happen this way and he let it happen because he was betrayed for your sake. After betraying Jesus, Judas plunges into the depths of despair and fails to seek forgiveness. But this Thursday, the night Jesus is betrayed for you, is the night he shows that forgiveness, life, and salvation are for you.

John's Gospel paints a stunning portrait of Jesus through the eyes of those whose interactions with Jesus lead us to meditate on His Passion. John tells us he wrote his Gospel: “so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His name” (John 20:30–31). This Lent, our life in Christ will be strengthened as we hear the witness of those who were present as part of Jesus’ journey to the cross.
